Re: Good-bye, Col. Potter
Just read this myself. Truly sad news indeed. I am a huge fan of both M*A*S*H and the character of Colonel Sherman T Potter.

Re: Good-bye, Col. Potter
The snippet that keeps running though my head was where his jeep got run over by a tank and he walks up to it sadly, and then, being former cavalry, shoots it!
RIP Col. Potter! MM |

Weird, I feel like someone I knew from my childhood has died. What
a kindred personality he was. Mike |

Re: Good-bye, Col. Potter
RIP indeed. Great in Dragnet, and great in MASH (in both roles that he played - Col. Potter and General Steel.)
Goodbye, farewell, and amen. |

Re: Good-bye, Col. Potter
I just watched the episode the other day where Col. Potter, Hawkeye, and BJ come back drunk in a Jeep. They are holding Col. Potter up between them when Col. Potter falls to the ground. They help him up and he says "Did I fall down?" They say "No." and he says "I didn't think so."
That cracks me up just thinking about it.Thanks for making us laugh. |

Re: Good-bye, Col. Potter
M*A*S*H was definitively more than just a sitcom. It was a story about a family going through tough times, and Harry Morgan was the father of that family.
We will all miss you Mr. Morgan, and thank for the good times you gave us. |
