I think it was because the T-1001 realized that humanity possessed some intangible advantage over AI
that always led back to humanity defeating the machines.
The T-1001 went into the past to acquire the knowledge and in doing so,
realized that an alliance with humanity was a good thing.

I'm not sure that another network WOULDN'T pick it up. Unfortunately, FOX has a tendency to be very closed-fisted about their properties. I'm not holding my breath on them releasing the rights to TSCC any more than I am expecting them to let anyone make more Firefly.

In the immediate aftermath of the cancelation, it was reported (at least I thought) that they were shopping the show around, but found no takers.

Fox really choked that like they do most. They let them film the end of the season and didn't hint at their plans for the show until announcing their fall schedule for the following season. But you knew they knew they were going to cancel it well before they ended filming on the season.

Yeah and in favor, they let Dollhouse live for a while before they also made the headshot - I'd have preferred TSCC over it anyime. At least there would have been a season 3…

Didn't watch it. Watched the first one and last one, and bits of in between, just to say I did.
They had a tough time making the show because they couldn't do anything really important. John and Sarah were untouchable. So they time traveled forward to make it all alternate reality.

That part I did like. Better than the damn bar fight in T4. The Terminator has Connor and throws him around for 10 minutes.

I thought the show was another missed opportunity. It was just ok. Better than T3 and T4 but that isn't saying much because T1 and T2 are classic, smart, and timeless sci-fi. Ideas are thrown about in this show and things are changed just for the sake of TV. The producers most likely knew the show was ending as they barely made it to a second season and still they ended with that cliffhanger.

I liked this show very much, in terms of how it tried to flesh out Sarah as more than a single-minded fighter trying to avert an unspeakable disaster. This show made her character richer and more nuanced. BAG as Derek was a pleasant surprise as well...I loved the scene where he takes John out for ice cream on his birthday, bringing him to the park where the young Kyle and Derek are playing baseball.

It still saddens me to think of the show's cancellation and the essentially dead hopes for any revival. That said, there are some folks here that have tried to save it, and they also have a forum.
