Re: Daft Punk Helmet Need Help!
I think I'm a little lost here but I will try to answer in the best way I can. There are several different ways to go about building the helmet.Ask Volpin or look in his thread to see how he made a master by covering a frame in expanding foam then carving away on it then going to further methods. Another way is to sculpt the helmet then mold and cast it, and finally if you are only wanting to make one without as much work as the other methods I would suggest looking for a pepakura helmet for Guy several already exist all you would have to do is build it out of paper, resin, fiberglass, bondo to smooth it out, sand it down. If Volpin sells the visor I would check with him on it Visors really are not something I am good with especially one shaped like this.

Re: Daft Punk Helmet Need Help!
Hi Nick,
There are a few threads here about Daft Punk helmets, if you use the search function, that should be able to give you an idea of what it takes to make a Daft Punk helmet. In particular, the helmet you have linked to was built by a member here who goes by the name of Volpin. His build thread can be found here. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and assume that you do not have much prop making experience? If that's so you may not want to set your goals as high as Volpin's helmet. For some tips and tricks on how to make Daft Punk helmets on a budget, or for prop making novice's, I would recommended visiting The Daft Club, as there is a huge thread on the subject and a very welcoming and helpful community. Good Luck! |
